Some twenty seven years ago, my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer and died within four months. The family was devastated but what was worse there were no prearranged plans. We didn’t know what to do and the resulting confusion, anxiety, grief, and uncalled for expense on argueably the worst day of our lives led to chaos and limited communication among the family for years.
The loss of my mom, under those circumstances, led me to get involved in the prearranged cremation industry. I am committed to helping every family to get the vital and caring information years in advance so their family can be spared the same experience that our family endured. There are questions that I urge and encourage everyone to ask so they truly understand their true costs. Questions that make sure that there are no added weekend or holiday fees, 2nd attendent fees, refrigeration fees, permanent urn fees and extensive travel and transfer fees beyond a radius of 25 – 30 miles from their home. It is my experience that most families will set up a prearranged cremation program in their late 50’s or early 60s, much like their living trusts. None of us are planning on ” checking out ” for years to come but a prearranged plan represents an incredible gift of love to our families later in life when they need it most.
